Es soll ja Menschen geben, die extra für die „Frühstückswelle“ am Sonntagmorgen ihr Bett verlassen, um dabei zu sein, wenn es heißt: „Musik nur für Erwachsene“ oder der Moderator ihnen drei Stunden lang „neue und alte Tonträger und Tonträgerinnen“ vorstellt und ans Herz legt.
Es geht um Pop im allerweitesten Sinne, um Musik zur Zeit, um die (zweit)schönste Nebensache der Welt. Zu hören sind unter anderem skandinavische Retrorocker, englische oder amerikanische Gitarrenbands, deutsche Diskurspop-Gruppen, sensible Singer/Songwriter etc. pp.; es gibt Labelporträts, Musikerporträts, Albenvorstellungen und Interviews.
Wiederholung am Montag von 4 Uhr bis 7 Uhr.

Frank Schäfer mit neuem Buch über Black Sabbath in der „Frühstückwelle“
Bei einem Arbeitsunfall in einem Birminghamer Stahlwerk verliert der Gitarrist Tony Iommi zwei Fingerkuppen. Um die Schmerzen beim Spielen zu verringern, stimmt er seine Gitarre tiefer und beeinflusst damit nicht nur maßgeblich den Sound seiner Band Black Sabbath, sondern er schafft auch eine neue Stilrichtung: Mit schweren Riffs, dystopischen Texten und einem »teuflischen« Image begründet die Band den Heavy Metal.
Der Autor, Musikjournalist und -kritiker Frank Schäfer erzählt in seiner Bandbiographie erstmals die gesamte wechselvolle Geschichte der Band von der Gründung 1968 bis zum Tod Ozzy Osbournes im Juli 2025 und würdigt ihr einflussreiches und traditionsbildendes musikalisches Werk. In der „Frühstückswelle“ am 2. August stellt er sein neues Buch im Gespräch mit Moderator Andreas Last ausführlich vor, dazu gibt es natürlich reichlich Musik von Black Sabbath.
