Soul Musik aus den Jahrzehnten
Soul stammt aus der Seele von Rhythm & Blues sowie Gospel und wird zur Hauptrichtung afroamerikanischer Popmusik. Der Wettstreit der beiden führenden Labels – Motown aus Detroit und Stax aus Memphis – trägt zu dieser Popularität wesentlich bei. Ebenfalls viele Fans findet der weiche einfühlsame orchestrale Philly Sound aus Philadelphia.
Nicht nur afroamerikanischer Soul in allen Facetten ist im Fokus der Sendung, sondern ebenfalls der europäische Blue Eyed Soul sowie der tanzbare britische Northern Soul aus den nordenglischen Dance Clubs.
Daneben stellt die Sendung stellt einzelne Künstler*innen vor und blickt in die Soul / R&B Jahres-End-Charts ausgesuchter Jahre.
